GoDaddy’s Global Compute team is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer focused on building and supporting next-generation cloud infrastructure. The role centers on maintaining GoDaddy’s globally distributed, large-scale private cloud infrastructure that powers websites and applications worldwide. Primary responsibilities include collaborating with engineering teams to build, run, and support cost-effective and robust private cloud infrastructures. The engineer will participate in SRE/DevOps processes, releases, and on-call activities to support infrastructure and customers, ensuring a delightful user experience. Developing and maintaining infrastructure deployment automation using Puppet and Ansible is a core part of the job, alongside creating infrastructure tooling with Python. The role offers opportunities to contribute to open-source projects, including Puppet, Ansible, OpenStack, Qemu, or libvirt. Troubleshooting code or infrastructure-level problems is expected. Required experience includes proficiency in Linux, deployment automation tools like Ansible or Puppet, and programming experience (typically Python). Interest in complex distributed networking, system performance tuning, monitoring, and security is essential.
