The role of Software Development Manager at GoDaddy involves leading and developing a high-performing engineering team that delivers critical AI platform capabilities, specifically within the GoCaaS (GoDaddy Content As A Service) team which powers GoDaddy’s generative AI platform. This role requires partnering with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and engineering leaders, to define and execute the GoCaaS roadmap and strategic initiatives. The manager is expected to drive platform excellence by ensuring reliability, scalability, and optimal developer experience for internal AI consumers. The position involves championing engineering best practices such as CI/CD, observability, and secure software development throughout the organization. Collaboration with enterprise teams in security, data, and infrastructure is key to delivering enterprise-grade AI solutions while fostering a culture of experimentation and technical excellence. Candidates should have over 6 years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in engineering management or technical lead roles. Leadership experience with backend/platform teams delivering production-scale services is required, along with strong cloud infrastructure knowledge in AWS, GCP, or Azure, and distributed systems expertise. Hands-on programming skills in Python, Go, or Node.js along with CI/CD and observability experience are necessary. The role also includes stakeholder management and cross-functional project delivery. Preferred qualifications include experience with AI/ML infrastructure such as LLMs and RAG systems, familiarity with container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes and Docker, knowledge of security and privacy frameworks, experience with developer platforms or internal tooling, and a passion for team building, mentoring, and community engagement.
