Ibiza, Spain – When 50 of the most influential voices in the web hosting industry were flown to a sun-soaked island retreat with no talks, no sales pitches, and no schedules, something unexpected happened: they truly connected.

The VIP Event, dubbed Hosts Del Mar, co-organized by Vito Peleg (Founder of Atarim) and the Monarx team, set out to be different from the usual speed-dating-style conference circuit. Held at a luxury hotel in Ibiza, the event’s aim was simple yet radical — focus on people, not products.

From pubs to paradigms

The idea for this exclusive gathering was sparked in a pub in London, where another industry event showed how powerful short, informal networking could be. “People flew in from Brazil, the U.S., and Europe to hang out for just two hours,” recalled Vito. That moment planted the seed: if a casual meetup could have such impact, imagine what a full weekend could do.

Spearheaded initially by Sören (an advisor and investor in Atarim), the event evolved from a private birthday celebration idea into a community-driven experience. When Sören handed the reins over to Vito, the mission was clear — design an event where the only agenda was genuine human interaction.

A different kind of industry gathering

Unlike traditional hosting conferences packed with panels and product pitches, Hosts Del Mar was intentionally stripped of content. No sessions. No decks. Just a sunlit terrace in Ibiza, good food, laughter, and unfiltered conversations between founders, executives, and entrepreneurs.

As Vito explained: “It’s not about infrastructure or domains — it’s about the humans behind them. When you remove the pressure to pitch, you invite real experiences to the table.”

This fresh approach not only brought a chill, vibrant atmosphere — it fostered stronger bonds in an industry known for rapid turnover and tight competition. Many participants noted how decision-makers in the hosting world often stay in the ecosystem for years, even as they change companies. A deeper relationship today can mean a smoother deal tomorrow.

From freelancers to hyperscalers: the Atarim shift

Vito also shared Atarim’s own journey — from helping freelance web designers streamline client feedback to becoming a core tool used by hyperscale hosting providers. A surprising use case surfaced when an account on Atarim started pushing through 700 projects per month — a scale that seemed like a bug at first.

Instead, it revealed a new opportunity: helping hosts offer professional website services at massive scale through a solution dubbed “Done-for-you-in-a-box.” By combining software scalability with a service delivery model, Atarim now enables providers like GoDaddy, Newfold, DreamHost, and more to offer web services efficiently — with 50–70% faster delivery times.

AI, automation, and the road ahead

Unsurprisingly, AI was a hot topic at the event. From GoDaddy’s Aero to Hostinger’s AI builders, the web creation experience is shifting. But Vito offered a grounded view: the tools change, but human guidance remains essential.

More than 80% of people who start building a site never finish,” he noted. Even with drag-and-drop builders or AI prompts, many users lack clarity on what to do next. That’s where professionals — and platforms like Atarim — remain critical.

He likened it to traffic: “Build more roads, and you get more cars. Similarly, easier tools mean more websites — but also more demand for those who can navigate that complexity.

Relationships first

This VIP Event wasn’t about demos or disruption — it was about community. By creating a safe, relaxed space away from the hustle of typical conferences, the organizers made room for honesty, creativity, and collaboration.

As the hosting world prepares for the next wave of growth, shaped by automation and AI, it’s these personal relationships — built in the sun of Ibiza — that may prove most valuable. “We’re just scratching the surface,” Vito said. “This is where long-term growth — and trust — begins.”
