Kinsta, a leading managed WordPress hosting company, seeks a SysOps Engineer responsible for maintaining production systems’ health, responding to incidents, and driving improvements to reduce operational risks. The role requires ownership of infrastructure issues from detection to resolution, working closely with multiple teams including Support, DevOps, Security, and Development. Responsibilities include improving platform observability, embedding security practices, automation development, and ensuring disciplined deployment processes. The position operates on a scheduled shift pattern with remote work, emphasizing customer experience and system scalability. Candidates should have strong Linux administration skills, experience with container-based Linux systems, managed hosting or SaaS infrastructure, and proficiency in PHP, Nginx, MySQL/MariaDB, and cloud providers. Bonus skills include ZFS, LXC, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, and advanced WordPress troubleshooting. Job requirements

  • Strong Ubuntu/Linux server administration experience
  • Experience with container-based Linux systems in production
  • Background in managed hosting or SaaS infrastructure
  • Solid understanding of PHP, Nginx, MySQL/MariaDB
  • Experience with major cloud providers (GCP, OCI, AWS, Azure)
