At GoDaddy, the Corporate Counsel – Compliance role is a highly motivated, detail-oriented position responsible for ownership of key compliance responsibilities within our growing global Compliance function. This role offers an opportunity to deepen expertise in complex regulatory areas while supporting a best-in-class, scalable compliance program. Responsibilities include promoting a culture of compliance and ensuring efficient risk and compliance management practices are adhered to across the business. The role involves owning U.S. sanctions and vendor compliance administration, including OFAC and 50-state sanctions requirements, leading TCPA and outbound calling compliance, handling FinCEN/KYC escalations, conflict reviews, and U.S. government contract obligations (FAR compliance). It also oversees Code of Conduct governance, the investigation portal, and compliance policy lifecycle. The Counsel serves as a backup on RFI responses and compliance mailbox, supporting timely sanctions alert resolutions, coordinating closely with the Privacy team on GDPR, international data transfer, and data protection compliance matters, and partnering with colleagues to own EU/UK sanctions, international outbound calling compliance, Digital Services Act, and modern slavery compliance. Additional tasks include overseeing global compliance training and development programs, supporting investigations into reports received via the compliance portal, monitoring evolving global regulations such as AML, sanctions, privacy, ESG, and AI, and providing practical advice to business leaders. The Counsel partners with leadership to measure compliance program effectiveness and reports progress to senior collaborators. Candidates should have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar, with 5+ years of experience focused on regulatory compliance and employee investigations, strong experience in OFAC/sanctions screening and escalation management, familiarity with AML/KYC processes, conflicts of interest reviews, vendor due diligence, knowledge of TCPA, outbound calling compliance, U.S. government contracting obligations (FAR), and experience conducting employee investigations. They should also have experience drafting and implementing compliance policies, procedures, and training materials, supporting investigations, strong collaboration and communication skills, ability to balance detailed risk analysis with practical solutions, and proficiency in leveraging AI tools for compliance workflows.
