At GoDaddy, we seek a Principal Compliance Engineer – PKI with extensive technical expertise to define requirements and lead the evolution of our Certificate Authority (CA) platform. This role involves translating industry standards into technical requirements, developing specifications for compliance automation, and guiding next-generation cryptographic systems, with a focus on post-quantum cryptography, certificate lifecycle automation, and CA infrastructure resilience. Responsibilities include leading technical representation in the CA/Browser Forum and other standards bodies, translating CAB Forum requirements into engineering specifications, conducting deep technical assessments of CA infrastructure, defining system evolution requirements, specifying automated compliance testing frameworks, and developing automation scripts. The role also requires defining SLIs/SLOs, documenting infrastructure-as-code solutions, researching post-quantum cryptographic algorithms, creating migration strategies for legacy systems, collaborating on emerging standards, and developing API and automation tool roadmaps. Collaboration with security teams, architectural reviews, technical documentation, and mentorship are key components. Candidates should have 8+ years in PKI systems or security infrastructure, expertise in PKI architecture, experience with CA/Browser Forum Baseline Requirements, systems engineering background with cloud infrastructure knowledge, and skills in defining PKI protocols and compliance automation. Preferred qualifications include advanced degrees, post-quantum cryptography experience, security certifications, audit process familiarity, contributions to PKI projects, high-availability system design, DevSecOps knowledge, cryptographic libraries, and test automation expertise.
