GoDaddy is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Backend to join their Authorization Team, focusing on building internal IAM platforms that provide relationship-based access control (ReBAC) across diverse products. This role involves solving complex problems related to distributed systems, data modeling, and security. Responsibilities include designing and implementing platform capabilities using Java (Spring) and Golang, authoring architectural decision records (ADRs) and request for comments (RFCs), driving performance improvements and reliability through SLOs and latency optimizations, leading incident response, integrating with product teams, mentoring peers, automating operational tasks, and maintaining quality code through reviews and innovation. Candidates should have experience leading initiatives on large-scale, high-volume platforms, backend development in Java and Golang, performance optimization in distributed systems, and database experience with relational and NoSQL databases. Additional knowledge of identity standards like OAuth, OpenID, Zanzibar-style authorization, and platform tools such as container orchestration, CI/CD, gRPC, and security fundamentals is advantageous. This position is fully remote, with occasional visits to GoDaddy offices, and is not eligible for certain US states.
