GoDaddy is seeking an experienced business-oriented attorney to join its global litigation team as Corporate Counsel – Litigation. In this role, you will manage a diverse docket of domestic and international disputes, advise on litigation risks related to emerging legal developments, business decisions, and strategic initiatives, and proactively identify and mitigate potential risks to support business growth. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Sr. Counsel – Litigation, your responsibilities will include serving as a key member of the litigation team, helping manage GoDaddy’s global litigation docket, selecting and directing external counsel within agreed policies and budget, driving day-to-day strategies on certain matters, and handling matters internally to avoid litigation and reduce costs. You will help develop and implement a cohesive global litigation strategy aligned with business objectives while adapting to local legal variances. Collaboration with cross-functional teams on litigation risk assessment in product development and strategy initiatives is essential, along with driving risk-mitigation projects to reduce litigation spend. Candidates must have a J.D. from an accredited law school and bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Arizona preferred), with 5+ years of litigation experience in private practice and/or an in-house corporate litigation department. Expertise in technology, particularly internet, domain registrar, and web hosting related litigation, as well as significant litigation and trial experience, is crucial. Strong decision-making, business advisory, problem-solving, analytical, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, with a highly collaborative approach and ability to influence cross-functional teams, are required. A strong work ethic and ability to prioritize and handle numerous matters in a fast-moving environment while delivering high-quality, business-oriented legal solutions are mandatory. Experience with using AI or openness to using AI to work more efficiently is a plus. Experience in a fast-paced, multinational, public technology company is also advantageous.
