The Manager, SRE- WP Platform role at GoDaddy involves leading a team responsible for building and extending a high-scale, cost-efficient, and secure hosting platform that supports millions of WordPress and application sites. This position requires a hands-on leadership style, deep experience in platform engineering focusing on cost, performance, security, and scale, and the ability to drive adoption of AI and agentic workflows to transform the hosting stack. Responsibilities include leading modernization efforts using cloud-native architecture, automation, and developer experience best practices, integrating AI capabilities into platform components, collaborating across product, security, and operations teams to deliver new features and ensure robust compliance, mentoring engineers to foster platform expertise and technological curiosity, and exploring other infrastructure-related initiatives beyond the WordPress platform. The role requires leveraging automation to simplify tasks and build highly performant components. Candidates should have proven experience leading platform engineering teams for large-scale, high-availability hosting or cloud platforms, expertise in cost, performance, security, and scalability, and a strong background in cloud infrastructure (AWS, OpenStack), automation, and developer tooling. Experience integrating AI/ML tools and intelligent automation, familiarity with FinOps, performance monitoring, and platform security best practices, and experience supporting WordPress and other modern application stacks are essential. Knowledge of GoDaddy’s tech stack including AI (MCPs, LLMs), orchestration tools (HashiCorp Nomad, Docker, Cilium), networking, storage solutions, observability tools, databases, application technologies, infrastructure as code and configuration management, and security tools is advantageous. The role is remote with occasional visits to GoDaddy offices and excludes candidates from certain states.
