GoDaddy seeks a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their Database Infrastructure team, focusing on designing, developing, and deploying automated solutions for production database infrastructure including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Cassandra. The role involves architecting and building software to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of databases supporting corporate applications and customer hosting services, potentially managing over a million databases. Responsibilities include designing and developing automation tools and services in Golang to streamline database operations for over 50 teams, building and maintaining REST APIs and microservices, developing custom software and internal tooling for database management at scale, engineering CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation with infrastructure as code practices, and maintaining automation scripts in Golang and Bash. The role also involves architecting solutions for migrating database infrastructure to modernized virtual machine environments, developing monitoring and alerting solutions, integrating with configuration management systems such as Salt and Puppet, and contributing to on-call rotations with a focus on incident prevention. Candidates should have over 2 years of experience in Golang for production-grade applications, at least 2 years working with relational or NoSQL databases at scale, experience designing REST APIs and backend services, microservices architecture, CI/CD pipelines, Linux/Unix systems, and familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible, SaltStack, or Puppet. Additional assets include Python for automation, containerization with Docker/Kubernetes, testing infrastructure experience, exposure to OpenStack or AWS, and familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Mimir, Loki, or Nagios-based systems like Icinga2.
