As a Senior Software Development Engineer at GoDaddy, you will contribute to the development of eCommerce and SSO infrastructure and Kubernetes systems on AWS. Your daily responsibilities include designing, building, and owning backend services and APIs in Java on Kubernetes-based platforms. You will work as a polyglot backend engineer, maintaining Java-first application code and supporting code in other languages. Additionally, you will build and operate backend application workflows and deployment pipelines using Argo Workflows, Argo CD, and GitOps practices, as well as develop and support application and infrastructure delivery pipelines for reliable backend service releases. Collaboration with eCommerce feature teams to design, deploy, and operate backend applications and platforms is crucial. Required experience includes 5+ years in backend software engineering with Java, hands-on Kubernetes experience, building and operating high-volume production systems on AWS, continuous deployment practices, infrastructure as code, and knowledge of observability and logging platforms like ELK. Additional desired skills include backend data storage technologies such as Cassandra, DynamoDB, SQL, security best practices, cloud, DevOps, and platform tooling including CloudFormation, AWS services, Akamai GTM, Logstash, Beats, FluentD/Fluentbit, Argo, and certificate/secret rotation.
