This role involves defining and owning the technical direction and architecture of the Website Builder product, ensuring it is reliable, scalable, and sustainable in the long term. The Tech Lead will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and engineering managers to align technical decisions with business goals, promote best development and infrastructure practices, and mentor the team towards technical excellence. Daily responsibilities include defining technical architecture, collaborating with stakeholders, ensuring code quality and system scalability, driving best practices in CI/CD, observability, and cloud infrastructure, mentoring engineers, balancing delivery speed with sustainable building, and monitoring system performance. Candidates should have 5+ years of software engineering experience including technical leadership, strong expertise in Node.js, Express, and relational databases like PostgreSQL/MySQL, experience with Redis, message queues, and event-driven architectures. Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, service-based architecture, database design, and distributed systems is required, alongside familiarity with frontend technologies such as Vue.js and Astro, strong communication skills, and experience with observability tools like Sentry and Grafana.
