We had the pleasure of speaking with the team behind JetHost — experienced hosting professionals who previously built SuperHosting.bg into the leading provider in Bulgaria and the Balkans. In this conversation, they share why they returned to the hosting industry, how they approach growth through acquisitions, and what they believe modern customers really expect from a hosting company.

  1. Let’s go back to the beginning – how did you first get into the hosting business?

Metodi Drenovski: Our journey started back in 2002 with a small hosting venture. Very quickly, we realized hosting was not just about servers and domains — it’s about helping real people use web technology to reach their goals. We used to joke that we hosted all the “three-letter technologies” like .php and .asp — but it was never about the tech itself. By 2005, we launched a more focused company aimed at the Bulgarian market. There was a clear gap in reliable cPanel-based services, and we saw an opportunity.
It wasn’t easy, but it was deeply rewarding. We built tools and services that made hosting accessible to people who previously found it too technical. Hosting became a tool for empowerment. Some say that without us, the hosting industry in Bulgaria wouldn’t have evolved the way it did. We eventually became the largest provider in the Balkans.
  2. SuperHosting.bg became the leading hosting provider in Bulgaria – what were the key decisions or strategies that helped you achieve that?

Metodi Drenovski: We built the company around two principles: brutal honesty and true care for our customers. That meant listening, solving real problems, and never hiding behind vague answers.
Our strong technical background gave us an edge — we could solve problems that others couldn’t even identify.
Another key factor was our openness to M&A. We reached out to other companies, built a proven internal framework for evaluating opportunities, and got very good at integrating teams and clients. That experience helps us to this day.
  3. What led to the sale of SuperHosting.bg to team.blue, and how did you feel about stepping away from the business after such success?

Metodi Drenovski: Timing is everything. It was the right moment for that move, and the sale gave us a chance to reflect — on what we did well and how we could do even better in the future.
  4. After the acquisition, you spent some time outside of the hosting industry. What brought you back – and why now?

Metodi Drenovski: We were in the business of maintaining WordPress websites. It is interesting business but most of the issues our clients faced were related to hosting. Often, to help them properly, we had to move them to a different host. So it was a natural progression to come back. And as many people told us “Once in hosting – always in hosting”
  5. Why did you choose to return through JetHost specifically, and what differentiates this venture from your previous one?

Metodi Drenovski: JetHost.com is built for the future of hosting — especially for micro, small, and medium-sized businesses. The Internet makes the business accessible globally, people are not bound to the local datacenter. Customers want performance, simplicity, AI-powered tools, and a human-centered approach. And they want AI Based solutions that make them more productive and help them spend the time on their business not building html blocks. All this should be provided with a client-first mindset and human approach. Hosting has become too hype-driven. We’re bringing the focus back to the customer.
  6. How has the hosting industry changed since your first days in hosting, and how did that influence the way you’re building JetHost?

Metodi Drenovski: The biggest shift is toward abstraction. People want results, not complexity. At JetHost, we embrace that — offering tools and services that are powerful, yet invisible. The client’s experience is what matters most.
  1. You recently acquired the WebHostFace brand – how did the opportunity to acquire WebHostFace come about?

Metodi Drenovski: In fact it was introduced through Lukasz Gawior, one of the founders of webhosting.today. We’re grateful for that introduction.
  2. What made WebHostFace an attractive target for acquisition?

    Metodi Drenovski:
It has a long track record on the US market, had a loyal client base and was built with the idea “Service always comes with a smiling face”. They were very aligned with our vision that a company can provide good service if the team is happy to help.
  3. Was the US market always a strategic goal, or did this specific deal shape that direction?

    Metodi Drenovski:
We are aiming to build a strong international brand. The US is the most advanced hosting market — so yes, it’s always been part of our strategy. This acquisition is a step in that direction.
  4. What was the most complex part of finalizing the acquisition?

    Metodi Drenovski:
There were no complex parts in this deal. The team was great and we shared a common vision about good service and making customers happy. We naturally fit 🙂
  5. How are you managing the integration of both companies in terms of team, infrastructure, and support?

Metodi Drenovski: We have deep experience in integrations — both technical and organizational. We’ve built internal systems that make the process efficient, with minimal disruption and maximum client satisfaction.
  6. Will the WebHostFace brand remain, or do you plan to merge it under JetHost in the future?

    Metodi Drenovski:
For now, WebHostFace.com remains as is. Behind the scenes, we’ll apply our technology and know-how to gradually improve the service.
  1. What are your priorities for JetHost in the next 12 months?

Metodi Drenovski: Our top priority is helping more clients feel safe and supported online — with fast, reliable hosting and easy access to emerging technologies. Growth through M&A is part of the plan, but only with companies that share our values. We’re not chasing numbers — we’re building something sustainable.
  2. Are you planning further acquisitions or expansion into other markets?
    Metodi Drenovski:
Yes, we are looking into different markets but I can not share more about that at the moment. Acquisitions have always been part of our strategy and we’re actively exploring. Our goal is to partner with people who think like us. That’s always the challenge — alignment. And our approach is simple and effective – we’ve developed deep expertise that allows us to complete deals within weeks, making us a preferred partner for many sellers.
  3. What lessons from your previous hosting experience are shaping your decisions today?

    Metodi Drenovski:
Don’t promise what you can’t deliver. Keep focused. The customer is more important than the server 🙂
There are a lot of lessons and the most important is that the hosting business is different from other technology businesses. Never forget that behind every domain is a real person or business.
  4. How do you see JetHost’s role in the international hosting market in the next few years?

    Metodi Drenovski:
We want to be the company that brings modern web hosting back to its roots — empowering people through technology, with a human-first mindset. We’ve done it before on a local level. Now we’re going global.
