Job summary
- The Network Infrastructure team is responsible for the operation, monitoring, maintenance, and support of DigiCert’s global production network.
- This position serves as a first responder for network incidents and operational requests, providing initial troubleshooting, monitoring, and administration of production network systems.
What you will do
- Network Operations & Monitoring
- Monitor the health, performance, and availability of global production network infrastructure.
- Review device logs, alerts, and monitoring systems to identify and respond to operational issues.
- Perform initial troubleshooting and incident response for network-related events.
- Troubleshoot network, application, database, DNS, load balancing, and service connectivity issues across data center and cloud environments.
- Work with Internet service providers, telecommunications carriers, cloud providers, application teams, database administrators, and third-party vendors to diagnose and resolve connectivity, routing, latency, and service-impacting issues.
- Participate in incident response activities and assist with service restoration efforts during production outages.
- Escalate complex issues to senior engineers while providing accurate documentation and diagnostics.
- Participate in root cause analysis activities following service-impacting incidents
- Implement routine network configuration changes following established procedures.
- Perform basic firewall policy modifications and access control changes.
What you will have
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise, service provider, or data center network environments.
- Understanding of: TCP/IP, DNS, Routing and switching fundamentals, VLANs and network segmentation, Firewall concepts, VPN technologies
- Understand routing protocols and route troubleshooting concepts.
- Experience using network monitoring, logging, and observability platforms to identify, investigate, and respond to infrastructure issues.
- Experience reviewing system and device logs to assist with troubleshooting and incident response activities.
- Experience responding to operational incidents and working within established incident management processes.
- Experience troubleshooting network, application, database, DNS, and service connectivity issues in collaboration with service providers, cloud providers, vendors, and internal technical teams.
- Ability to perform network troubleshooting and isolate issues across routing, switching, firewall, load balancing, and cloud-connected environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow operational procedures in a highly controlled production environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to participate in on-call support rotation and monthly maintenance.
- Familiarity with data center networking technologies such as:
Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN)
Ethernet VPN (EVPN)
- Understanding of overlay and underlay networking concepts within modern data center environments.
Experience supporting Arista EOS-based switching environments.
