The Manager drives modernization using cloud-native architecture, automation, and developer experience best practices, integrating AI and agentic capabilities into platform components. Collaboration across product, security, and operations is key to delivering new features and maintaining compliance. The role involves mentoring engineers and supporting infrastructure initiatives beyond the WordPress platform, leveraging automation for performance. Candidates should have proven experience leading platform engineering teams for high-availability hosting or cloud platforms, with expertise in cost, performance, security, and scalability. A strong background in cloud infrastructure (AWS, OpenStack), automation, developer tooling, AI/ML integration, FinOps, performance monitoring, and platform security is required. Experience with WordPress and modern application stacks is important. Knowledge of technologies like AI (MCPs, LLMs), orchestration tools (HashiCorp Nomad, Docker), networking (AWS NLB, Traefik), storage (EBS CSI, FSx), observability (Prometheus, Grafana), databases (etcd, Redis), application tech (nginx unit, PHP, Node.js), IaC tools (AWS CDK, Terraform, Ansible), and security tools (OIDC proxy, SELinux) is advantageous.
