The engineer will work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, security architecture, and engineering execution, collaborating with service teams, security leaders, and compliance partners to embed security-by-design principles into cloud services and internal platforms. They will build and maintain secure, scalable cloud architectures aligned with AWS security standards, defining guardrails for multi-account and multi-region setups. Responsibilities include managing security controls across compute, storage, networking, and identity layers using infrastructure-as-code, policy-as-code, and continuous compliance automation; performing threat modeling, architecture reviews, and risk assessments; collaborating with platform teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows; leading incident response and post-incident reviews; contributing to security strategy, standards, and reference architectures; mentoring junior engineers; and engaging with audit, compliance, and risk teams to ensure regulatory compliance and foster a strong security culture.nnCandidates should have 8+ years of experience in security engineering, cloud engineering, or infrastructure engineering, with significant exposure to large-scale distributed systems. Deep hands-on experience securing AWS environments (IAM, VPC, EC2, EKS, S3, Lambda, CloudTrail) is required, along with solid knowledge of cloud security domains including identity and access management, network security, encryption and key management, logging and monitoring, and secrets management. Proficiency in threat modeling methodologies such as STRIDE, security architecture design, and risk-based decision-making is essential. Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation frameworks like AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform, and scripting/programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java is necessary. Familiarity with security automation and integrating security controls into CI/CD pipelines is also expected.nnPreferred qualifications include familiarity with security standards and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, PCI DSS), a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent hands-on experience. GoDaddy offers a range of benefits including paid time off, retirement savings plans, bonus eligibility, equity grants, employee stock purchase plans, competitive health benefits, parental leave, and support for diverse and entrepreneurial cultures.
