As a Senior Manager of Site Reliability Engineering, you will lead GoDaddy’s SRE Center of Excellence in India. You will hold a senior role in the overall engineering leadership team. You will support GoDaddy’s growth of its engineering footprint in India and develop a high-performing, cross-time-zone, globally unified SRE team.

The objective of the SRE Center of Excellence is to establish a durable, scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud operations capability. This role supports GoDaddy’s ongoing progression from monolithic architectures to modular, multi-service platforms, enabling both product agility and operational performance at scale.

You will champion a platform-as-a-product outlook, promoting engineering team independence while maintaining reliability, resilience, cost efficiency, and solid operational standards. Leading a unit of Infrastructure, Automation, Cloud Operations, and SRE engineers, your leadership will directly influence the daily experience of GoDaddy engineering teams and the digital journeys of millions of GoDaddy customers, entrepreneurs, small business owners, and merchants worldwide!

This is a rare opportunity to build and expand a global SRE capability from India. You will collaborate with dedicated engineers across regions, address complex distributed systems challenges, and make technology and operating model decisions that affect millions of GoDaddy customers and their businesses.

Managing a cross-functional, global platform organization:

The SRE Center of Excellence supports various products and works closely with feature teams in different time zones. You will develop robust operating procedures, defined ownership frameworks, and efficient collaboration methods. These will help globally distributed teams act swiftly while ensuring high quality, reliability, and accountability.

You will need to balance building the local team in India with global coordination. Ensure the India SRE organization fits well within GoDaddy’s wider engineering strategy and operating model.

Building true platform-as-a-product capabilities

GoDaddy is transitioning from a platform-as-support framework to an authentic platform-as-a-product framework. This entails developing self-service options that make the paved road the most straightforward route for engineering teams.

You will support the development and continuous improvement of developer platforms for infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD, observability, database operations, incident response, and operational automation. The purpose is to elevate developer experience while decreasing the operational responsibilities of platform teams.

Every platform upgrade should produce impact throughout the broader engineering organization: enabling teams to accelerate, function more securely, and achieve improved outcomes for GoDaddy customers and merchants.

GoDaddy must deliver world-class reliability while continuing to support growth across products, markets, and customer segments. This requires architecting for modularity, scalability, security, and cost efficiency from day one.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, cloud operations, or platform engineering
  • 6+ years of engineering leadership experience, including leading distributed, international, or cross-functional platform, SRE, or infrastructure teams
  • You have experience directing and scaling units of 10-20+ engineers, including senior engineers, technical leads, or managers
  • You bring established experience in constructing, enlarging, or reforming platform, infrastructure, cloud operations, or SRE organizations
  • You have experience leading a platform-as-a-product operating model, placing a strong emphasis on developer experience, adoption, self-service, and measurable outcomes
  • You have contributed to the modernization of large-scale systems, including migration from monolithic architectures to modular, component-based, or cloud-native platforms
  • You have deep experience operating secure, reliable, and scalable systems in SaaS, cloud, multi-product, commerce, marketplace, hosting, or high-traffic environments
  • You have a solid grasp of contemporary cloud infrastructure and reliability methods, including observability, incident management, SLOs/SLIs, capacity planning, automation, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, operational readiness, and disaster recovery
  • You have strong process orientation and experience implementing objectives and key results, reliability scorecards, operational reviews, post-incident reviews, and engineering excellence mechanisms
  • You have a history of producing quantifiable results in developer productivity, platform adoption, reliability, operational efficiency, and cost reduction
  • You are an effective communicator and influencer who can align senior collaborators across engineering, product, security, architecture, and business teams
  • You are comfortable operating in fast-paced, global environments and working across multiple time zones
  • You are fluent in English and able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • You bring proven experience integrating globally distributed engineering cultures into a single operating cadence. You also have a demonstrated ability to create cohesion, alignment, and a unified engineering identity across geographies
  • You are a people-first leader who understands how to assemble high-performing teams, nurture talent, provide clarity, and encourage a culture of responsibility, ownership, and inclusion
  • Experience in large-scale SaaS, commerce, marketplace, domain, hosting, payments, or infrastructure-heavy businesses
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Go, Python, AWS, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar cloud, observability, and automation platforms
  • Experience with developer tools powered by AI or employing AI to boost engineering productivity, operations, incident response, or automation
  • Experience with event-driven architectures, data platforms, or platform engineering at scale
  • Experience contributing to or leading open-source initiatives
  • Experience with M&A, post-acquisition integration, platform consolidation, or large-scale engineering transformation
  • Willingness to travel when necessary to work alongside international engineering groups, participate in leadership retreats, and assist with cross-regional coordination within GoDaddy’s engineering organization
