This hybrid role involves working remotely and in-office, requiring candidates to live within commuting distance. The Senior Software Engineer will architect and build highly available, scalable, and secure distributed services that support millions of customers worldwide. Key responsibilities include driving architectural decisions for critical hosting infrastructure, leading code reviews, guiding engineers on development patterns, contributing to on-call rotations for incident response, and promoting security-first engineering practices. The ideal candidate should have over 5 years of software development experience building production systems at scale, strong expertise in Ruby, and the ability to design and implement complex distributed systems and scalable applications. Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet or Ansible, containerization technologies, high-throughput SQL and NoSQL databases, and contemporary monitoring solutions is essential. Additional desirable skills include experience with hosting solutions, managing or contributing to open-source projects, and familiarity with AI coding solutions/tools.
