GoDaddy Engineering seeks a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join their team responsible for building and maintaining core platform services that support day-to-day developer and engineer experiences. This remote role requires leadership in designing, deploying, and operating scalable, resilient, and secure Linux systems across a global platform. Responsibilities include diagnosing and solving complex system-level issues with deep Linux internals knowledge, writing Python automation scripts for provisioning and system performance optimization, and championing SRE best practices such as SLOs, error budgets, and blameless postmortems. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance infrastructure architecture and developer experience, implementation and evolution of infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Git, as well as incident response ownership and post-incident analysis focusing on resilience and continuous improvement. The Senior SRE will mentor engineers and foster a culture of reliability, learning, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate has over 7 years of hands-on experience managing Linux systems in high-scale production environments, strong Python development skills for automation and backend scripting, working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD workflows, observability and monitoring tools experience, and containerized environment knowledge (Docker, Kubernetes). Additional desirable skills include contributions to open-source projects, experience with Go or scripting languages like Bash, exposure to chaos engineering and resilience testing, and a passion for improving developer experience.
