GoDaddy is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic team focusing on automating and maintaining our storage infrastructure with an emphasis on Ceph. The role involves automating day-to-day operations of storage systems to support application demands, developing and maintaining tools and automation scripts to streamline storage operations and improve efficiency. You will monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability. Responsibilities include participation in agile practices such as daily stand-ups, task tracking, design and code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration, and deployment. The focus is on continuously improving system reliability, performance, and capacity through proactive monitoring, automation, and optimization. Qualified candidates will have 2+ years of professional experience with Ceph in a production environment, 2+ years in site reliability engineering or similar roles, hands-on experience with Ceph cluster deployment and management, proficiency in Linux/Unix systems and automation, and solid skills in Python or Bash scripting. Experience with Ansible, Terraform, or SaltStack is required, as well as familiarity with Nagios-based monitoring tools like Icinga2, and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Mimir, and Loki. A strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols related to Linux/Unix systems is necessary. Additional skills that are advantageous include containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes, exposure to compute platforms such as OpenStack or AWS, and experience contributing to CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows.
