Healthcare AI Acquisition Sales Executive
ROLE OVERVIEW
Rackspace Technology is hiring a Healthcare AI Acquisition Sales Executive to drive net-new revenue growth within the U.S. healthcare market. This is a pure hunter role – you will own the full sales cycle from prospecting through close, targeting C-suite and VP-level technology, operations, and clinical leaders at health systems and IDNs. You will bring Rackspace’s differentiated portfolio of AI/ML infrastructure, managed multi-cloud, data analytics platforms, HIPAA-compliant security, and Palantir solutions to healthcare organizations navigating digital transformation and AI adoption.
There is no existing account responsibility in this role. You will be measured on new logo acquisition, pipeline generation, and closed ARR against a defined quota.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Prospect & Pipeline:Build a self-sourced pipeline of net-new health system and IDN logos through outbound prospecting, industry events, partner channels (AWS, Azure, GCP, Palantir), and executive networking.
- Own the Full Cycle:Lead discovery, solution design, business case development, contract negotiation, and close for complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals ranging from $500K to $5M+ in annual contract value.
- Sell the AI Story:Position Rackspace as the trusted infrastructure and managed services partner enabling healthcare AI use cases – clinical decision support, predictive analytics, operational automation, and population health platforms.
- Navigate Complexity:Orchestrate internal resources (solutions architects, security, compliance, Palantir specialists) across lengthy, consensus-driven procurement cycles common in health systems.
- Partner Collaboration:Co-sell with hyperscaler (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Palantir field teams to source and accelerate opportunities.
- Pipeline Hygiene:Maintain accurate CRM data (Salesforce), forecasting, and account plans in line with Rackspace’s sales methodology.
- Market Feedback:Serve as the voice of the healthcare market internally – surface competitive intelligence, buyer trends, and unmet needs to product and solution leadership.
WHAT YOU’LL SELL
You will represent the full Rackspace healthcare-relevant portfolio:
- AI/ML Infrastructure:GPU-accelerated compute, MLOps platforms, model training and inference environments purpose-built for healthcare AI workloads.
- Managed Multi-Cloud:Fully managed AWS, Azure, GCP and private cloud services – architecture, migration, operations, and optimization – at enterprise scale.
- Data & Analytics Platforms:Modern data lakehouses, real-time pipelines, and analytics infrastructure supporting clinical, financial, and operational data.
- Compliance & Security:HIPAA-compliant infrastructure, zero-trust security frameworks, audit-ready governance, and BAA-backed managed services.
- Palantir Solutions:Palantir Foundry and AIP deployments for healthcare data integration, AI orchestration, and operational intelligence.
HEALTHCARE TECHNOLOGY ECOSYSTEM
Health systems run complex, deeply integrated technology stacks. A successful candidate understands how Rackspace’s infrastructure and AI capabilities sit alongside – and unlock value from – the clinical, operational, and analytics platforms already deployed in the enterprise. Key ecosystem categories you will encounter:
Clinical Systems (EHR/EMR)
Electronic Health Record platforms are the operational core of every health system. Rackspace supports cloud infrastructure migrations, AI augmentation, and data integration layers that sit adjacent to these systems. You should be conversant in:
- Epic:The dominant EHR in large U.S. health systems and IDNs. Key modules include MyChart (patient portal), Interconnect (interoperability), Cogito (analytics), and Nebula (cloud). Understaning Epic’s Cosmos dataset and FHIR-based APIs is a differentiator when positioning AI and data platform solutions.
- Oracle Health (Cerner):Widely deployed in community hospitals, VA/DoD, and international health systems. The Oracle Health migration to OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) creates active co-sell and competitive displacement opportunities for Rackspace’s multi-cloud managed services.
- MEDITECH:Common in community and critical access hospitals. MEDITECH Expanse cloud deployments open conversations about managed hosting, security, and adjacent analytics infrastructure.
- Allscripts / Veradigm:Present in ambulatory and physician group settings; relevant for IDNs with employed medical group arms.
- athenahealth:Cloud-native EHR common in ambulatory care and independent practices within IDN networks.
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
Healthcare ERP systems manage the financial, supply chain, and human capital operations of a health system. AI and cloud modernization initiatives frequently originate from or are co-sponsored by ERP-adjacent finance and operations leadership. Key platforms include:
- Workday:Widely adopted for HR and Finance in health systems. Workday’s move to cloud-native infrastructure creates data integration and analytics opportunities – particularly around workforce analytics and financial forecasting AI use cases.
- Oracle Cloud ERP / PeopleSoft:Common in large health systems, especially those in the Oracle/Cerner ecosystem. Oracle ERP modernization projects often run in parallel with clinical system upgrades, creating bundled infrastructure opportunities.
- SAP S/4HANA:Deployed in larger, more complex health system enterprises and academic medical centers. SAP RISE migrations and S/4HANA cloud transitions are active Rackspace co-sell motions.
- Infor CloudSuite Healthcare:Purpose-built ERP for healthcare supply chain, financial management, and HR. Common in IDNs with significant supply chain complexity.
- Lawson (Infor):Legacy ERP still prevalent in older health systems; modernization off Lawson is an active opportunity vector.
Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) & Analytics Platforms
Healthcare EDW and analytics platforms are the foundation of population health, quality reporting, and operational intelligence. Rackspace’s data platform and AI/ML infrastructure offerings frequently augment or modernize these environments. Key platforms include:
- Health Catalyst:A leading healthcare-specific EDW and analytics platform deployed in many large IDNs. Rackspace can position managed cloud infrastructure and AI/ML layer capabilities that extend Health Catalyst’s analytical foundation.
- Epic Cogito / SlicerDicer:Epic’s native analytics and self-service reporting toolset. Health systems frequently seek to offload Cogito data into cloud data platforms for broader AI and cross-system analytics.
- Snowflake (Healthcare & Life Sciences):Rapidly adopted as a cloud data platform for clinical, claims, and operational data. Rackspace Snowflake managed services and Palantir Foundry integrations on Snowflake are active solution plays.
- Microsoft Fabric / Azure Synapse:Increasingly adopted for healthcare data lakehouse architectures, often co-deployed with Epic or Cerner data exports and Microsoft’s healthcare data models (FHIR).
- Arcadia Analytics:Deployed in value-based care and ACO settings for population health management. Common in IDNs with significant Medicare Advantage or risk-based contract exposure.
- Inovalon:Cloud-based analytics platform for payers and providers managing quality measures, risk adjustment, and outcomes data.
- IBM / Merative (formerly Watson Health):Legacy EDW and analytics footprint in some large health systems; active modernization opportunities as organizations migrate off IBM infrastructure.
Interoperability & Data Standards
Understanding the data exchange landscape is critical to positioning Rackspace’s AI and data platform solutions credibly with technical buyers:
- HL7 FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources):The dominant standard for healthcare data exchange. FHIR-based APIs are the foundation for connecting EHR data to AI models, analytics platforms, and third-party applications.
- CommonWell / Carequality:National health information exchange networks used by most major EHR vendors. Relevant when discussing real-world data aggregation for AI training and population health use cases.
- HL7 v2 / CCD / CCDA:Legacy interoperability standards still widely in production across health systems; relevant when scoping data migration and integration complexity.
WHO YOU’LL TARGET
Primary buyers and influencers within Health Systems and IDNs:
- Chief Information Officers (CIO) and Chief Technology Officers (CTO)
- Chief Digital Officers (CDO) and Chief Data Officers
- Chief Medical Officers (CMO) and VP Clinical Informatics
- VP / Director of IT Infrastructure and Cloud Operations
- VP / Director of Data & Analytics
