Overview
Rackspace Technology is seeking a high-performing commercial seller to drive strategic growth across Australia and the broader APJ region.
This role focuses on helping customers modernize platforms, unlock data value, and accelerate AI adoption using leading public cloud platforms, including AWS and Microsoft Azure.
You will engage senior business and technology stakeholders to position data platforms, AI/ML solutions, and modern cloud architectures that solve complex enterprise challenges.
This is a strategic, consultative sales role requiring strong commercial discipline, executive presence, and the ability to align customer priorities with Rackspace capabilities, hyperscaler programs, and cross-functional delivery teams.
Primary Purpose
- Drive the end-to-end sales cycle to win and grow strategic accounts for Rackspace.
- This role is focused on identifying and closing opportunities across:
- Platform and data modernization
- Analytics and AI adoption
- Cloud migration and application modernization
- Managed services and adjacent value-based offerings
- You will leverage consultative selling, business value articulation, and knowledge of AWS and Microsoft go-to-market motions to execute complex, strategic deals and build long-term account growth.
- Typical sales cycle: 6-24 months

Australia Market Focus
This role prioritizes customers and opportunities where Rackspace has the strongest right to win, including:
- Financial Services, Mining, Manufacturing, Retail.
- The successful candidate will tailor platform, data and AI conversations to industry-specific priorities, regulatory requirements, and transformation agendas.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and execute strategic account and pursuit plans for named accounts
- Identify and progress opportunities across:
- Data platform modernization
- AI and machine learning
- Cloud migration and application modernization
- Platform engineering and modern architectures
- Security and governance in data environments
- Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving internal teams, partners, and hyperscale’s
- Build strong relationships with AWS and Microsoft field teams to drive co-sell motions and access funding programs
- Collaborate with solution architects and delivery teams to design and position high-impact solutions
- Develop compelling business cases and executive proposals aligned to customer outcomes
- Lead negotiations, contract execution, and commercial structuring
- Drive account expansion through cross-sell and upsell opportunities
- Build deep understanding of customer strategy to position Rackspace as a long-term partner

- Strong understanding of AWS and Microsoft Azure ecosystems
- Proven ability to sell complex Data, AI, or cloud transformation solutions
- Strong consultative selling capability within enterprise environments
- Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders (CIO, CTO, CDO, VP level)
- Experience building business cases and executive-level messaging
- Understanding of hyperscale co-sell models, marketplace, and funding programs
- Ability to translate technical solutions into clear business outcomes
- Strong cross-functional collaboration across sales, presales, delivery, and alliances
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
- Ability to manage multiple strategic pursuits simultaneously
Experience selling one or more of:
- Data and analytics platforms
- AI / machine learning solutions
- Public cloud (AWS / Azure)
- Cloud migration or application modernization
- Platform engineering or DevOps solutions
- Experience working with AWS, Microsoft or hyperscale ecosystems strongly preferred
- Experience leveraging co-sell programs and funding incentives highly desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred
