As a Python Developer at SiteGround, your primary focus will be on developing innovative AI-powered products. You will join a team of AI engineers and collaborate with other development teams to deliver robust and scalable AI solutions. Your contributions will directly impact both internal systems and the products offered to clients. SiteGround is embracing AI technologies as a core part of its business strategy, aiming for an AI-first approach for products and the company. In this role, you will design and build new products from scratch, improve existing systems, and help shape services behind AI initiatives. Your focus will primarily be backend development, but front-end and broader experience with other programming languages are valued. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable services using Python and FastAPI, building APIs to support internal tools and customer-facing apps; collaborating with AI engineers to implement and optimize AI functionality; writing clean, efficient, testable code meeting performance and reliability standards; participating in code reviews and refining workflows; rapidly prototyping new features, experimenting with tools and evaluating third-party libraries; partnering with platform engineers to deploy, monitor, and maintain AI services in production; troubleshooting production issues and contributing to stability; and supporting internal AI adoption by developing tools that streamline workflows across departments. Expectations: 5+ years experience with Python preferred (open to highly motivated candidates with less); strong software development principles; experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks; understanding SQL and PostgreSQL; experience with Python package management; experience adapting latest AI tech and large language models; familiarity with VMs, shell scripting; passion for AI tools to improve workflows; excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
