Join SiteGround’s innovative tech team as a Platform Software Developer to shape our cutting-edge hosting platform! We’re looking for a true polyglot programmer, fluent in multiple programming languages across diverse paradigms, to build and enhance our in-house services and contribute to impactful open-source projects. At SiteGround, we leverage languages like Go, C, Python, and Perl, but we value adaptability and expertise in a broad range of languages to tackle complex challenges. You will be part of a team that provides the software platform relied upon by most of our products. The technologies you will work on a daily basis are spanned in multiple domains, collaborating with multiple teams. It’s perfectly normal to work on the API of a future product one day and debug an obscure crash in a 3rd party software happening on production the next one. If you’re passionate about scalable systems and collaborative innovation, this is your opportunity to shine! Your responsibilities include developing and optimizing internal services using Go, C, Python, and Perl; investigating complex real-world issues in open-source software products; collaborating with teams to design and implement scalable, high-performance systems; ensuring platform reliability, security, and efficiency for a global user base; designing and implementing scalable, high-availability software solutions; monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the security of the platform; and seeking solutions and new approaches to existing and new problems. Expectations include proficiency in multiple programming languages with a focus on clean, efficient code; familiarity with at least one statically typed language (Go, C/C++, Rust) and one scripting language (Python, Perl, Ruby, Bash); passion for open-source contributions; strong problem-solving skills; knowledge of Linux/Unix; proficiency with git and git workflows; comfort working on multiple projects and languages daily; and being self-directed and eager to learn. Great advantages include prior contributions to well-known open-source projects, personal project experience, cloud services and containerization knowledge, experience with large-scale systems or service development, familiarity with web hosting technologies or infrastructure automation, experience with major AI service providers, and specific experience with Go or Python. The role offers working on in-house built products using the latest technologies, a competitive salary with achievement bonus, premium health insurance, reduced working hours every Friday, sponsorship for worldwide conferences, free office restaurant, gym access with instructors, free fitness and wellness classes in HQ, free Multisport or CoolFit card, additional days off for long service and volunteering, anniversary and company gifts, and knowledge-sharing at meetups and mini conferences. Only resumes submitted in English are considered and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further steps.
