We are looking for aBusiness Intelligence Analystto join UpCloud’s Finance team and help us make better use of data across the company.
This is an opportunity for someone early in their career who enjoys working with data and wants to develop their skills in business intelligence and analytics. You don’t need years of experience. An internship, relevant consulting project work, or previous similar hands-on experience with BI can be enough.
You will work with teams across UpCloud to understand what information they need and turn those needs into clear and useful dashboards, metrics, and analyses. We already have plenty of data and dashboards. Your job won’t just be to create more of them. An important part of the role will be helping us bring consistency to how we use BI across the company: improving existing dashboards, bringing scattered reporting together, and making sure the metrics we use are clear and consistent.
As you gain more experience, there is plenty of room to take on more responsibility. Over time, you can grow towards owning our BI environment, developing common standards and ways of working, and expanding your role further into data analytics.
What you’ll be doing
Building and developing dashboards for teams across UpCloud
Working with stakeholders to understand their questions and turn them into useful reporting, metrics and analyses
Improving existing dashboards and making our reporting easier to understand
Bringing consistency to dashboard design, structure and user experience
Helping define and maintain common metrics across different parts of the business
Identifying overlapping or outdated dashboards and helping simplify our reporting
Exploring data to answer business questions and support decision-making
Working closely with our data team and other teams across UpCloud
Gradually taking more ownership of our BI tools and ways of working
We currently use Google Data Studio Pro (formerly Looker Studio Pro) as our main dashboard and data visualisation tool. Previous experience with Data Studio is useful in the role, but not a requirement. Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or another BI and visualisation tool gives you an equally good foundation to get started in the role.
None of these are hard requirements, but they will help you along the way:
Basic SQL skills
Experience with Google Data Studio / Looker Studio
Experience with BigQuery or another cloud data warehouse
Room to grow
At first, your focus will be on getting to know our data, dashboards and business while contributing to BI development across UpCloud.
As your understanding grows, so will your ownership. You can take a bigger role in developing our Data Studio environment, bringing dashboards and metrics together and shaping how BI is used across the company. From there, the role can develop in different directions over time.
Location
For this role, we prefer someone based in or around Helsinki who enjoys spending most of their week at our Helsinki office right in the heart of Helsinki city centre. You’ll work alongside colleagues from across the business, making it easy to learn, exchange ideas, and understand how different parts of UpCloud work. We believe there is real value in learning through everyday conversations and building relationships with people across the company.
Why UpCloud?
UpCloud is building the leading European cloud and challenging some of the largest companies in the industry. You’ll be working in an international technology company where data connects different parts of the business, from our customers and products to sales, marketing, and finance.
You’ll have a real opportunity to influence how we use BI and analytics across the company rather than simply maintaining an established reporting setup.
At UpCloud, you’ll be trusted with responsibility and given room to develop. We value people who ask questions, look for better ways of doing things and take ownership as they grow.
The pay range for this role is around3100-4300 eurosper month, depending on your seniority. The range is not set in stone, as we assess each case individually.
We (humans, not AI) review all applications and get back to all our candidates. That is a promise.
