Vultr is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Director, Network Intelligence to architect, deploy, and scale a comprehensive network telemetry and data intelligence platform.. The ideal candidate is a deeply technical expert with an extensive background in extracting actionable intelligence from large-scale network data, alongside proven experience building the infrastructure required to operationalize it.. This is a highly visible role in a high-growth technology company, which will require strategic leadership and technical execution to establish a foundational platform that directly secures and optimizes our global infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
Architect the foundational specifications for the global network telemetry ecosystem and exercise full ownership over the intelligence framework. As the primary stakeholder for telemetry pipelines, you will lead the strategic design of data lakes, implement sophisticated real-time enrichment protocols, and enforce rigorous data governance across the network intelligence landscape.
Direct the global DDoS detection framework and overarching mitigation policies. You will be responsible for defining attack classifications, establishing rigorous detection thresholds, and engineering the logic that governs automated mitigation response protocols.
Design threat detection mechanisms and infrastructure to combat hackers, mitigate network security risks, and enhance overall trust and safety across the platform.
Establish comprehensive data reporting structures to provide deep visibility into network performance, security events, and operational health.
Build detection and reporting capabilities for protecting IP and network reputation
Lead capacity management and network monetization initiatives. Backbone/peering cost analysis, GPU customer traffic profiling, oversubscription modeling, and identifying opportunities to price and monetize network capabilities based on real usage data.
Collaborate with engineering and finance stakeholders to architect and operationalize a comprehensive, telemetry-driven billing ecosystem for precise usage monitoring.
Manage, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering team focused on network security, data pipelines, and infrastructure intelligence.
Compensation
$180,000 – $230,000
Final compensation will vary depending on years of experience, background/skill set, location, and applicable laws.
