From an Aachen software startup to an established hosting provider with international reach: hosting.de GmbH looks back on two decades of company history and is unveiling a new logo as well as a custom-developed visual design system to mark the milestone.

hosting.de GmbH, headquartered in Aachen, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Founded in 2006 under the name TwooIT GmbH, the company is today one of Germany’s established hosting providers, offering a complete portfolio of web hosting, domains, email, SSL, managed servers, cloud and eCommerce solutions, as well as Managed Nextcloud. All services are developed and operated in Germany.

To mark the anniversary, hosting.de is presenting a comprehensively revised brand identity. At its heart is a new logo that reflects the company’s evolution and underscores its commitment to delivering first-class hosting services from Germany in the years to come.

Cleaner, More Modern, More Versatile: The New Logo

The new visual identity is the result of careful design work. It is noticeably more pared-back, clearer, and bolder than its predecessor. The typeface has been modernized, enlarged, and optimized for better legibility – a decisive advantage on both large monitors and mobile devices. This ensures a consistent and pleasant user experience across all of hosting.de’s dashboards, interfaces, and applications.

“Over the past 20 years, the digital world has evolved at a rapid pace, and hosting.de has continuously evolved with it,” explains Oliver Dick, Managing Director of hosting.de. “The time was right for a design that reflects our drive to innovate and our forward-looking perspective. With the new logo, we are opting for less visual noise, more clarity, and stronger recognizability.”

More Than a Logo: A Design with a System

The new logo is part of an overarching visual system. The distinctive colored bars are not merely a decorative element but will be used consistently throughout hosting.de’s product interfaces going forward, for example, as status indicators, to identify product areas, or to visually structure the front ends. This creates a stronger connection between brand and product, as well as a consistently coherent user experience.

Another key aspect is the scalability of the new design: the logo is conceived in such a way that it works optimally in a wide range of contexts, from banners to social media to animations. It is robust and flexible enough to keep pace with the demands of the digital future.

From TwooIT GmbH to International Hosting Provider

The roots of hosting.de reach back to 1998, when the founding team took its first steps in the field of web hosting and domains. The founding of TwooIT GmbH in 2006 laid the cornerstone of today’s company. Two decades of continuous technical development followed – from the launch of the first XEN-based VPS systems and the migration of the in-house platform to C++ and Qt, through to the expansion of data center locations in Aachen, Cologne, and Nuremberg.

In 2016, a major milestone came with the renaming to hosting.de GmbH: the name became the mission. In 2022, hosting.de became part of the Namespace Group, and in 2025 the company expanded its business into the French market with the launch of the hosting.fr brand. Back in 2019, hosting.de had already upgraded its network to 100 Gbit/s; in 2023, this was followed by a move to a new, more powerful data center.
