The Principal Cloud Security Engineer role at GoDaddy requires over 12 years of experience in security engineering, cloud infrastructure, or distributed systems, with proven leadership in large-scale security initiatives. This senior role is responsible for developing and leading AWS cloud security architecture and strategy, balancing security, availability, and performance, and implementing guardrails and design patterns. The engineer will conduct security architecture reviews, threat modeling, identify systemic risks, and lead remediation efforts across the company. They will mentor engineers, influence service roadmaps to integrate security early in design, champion automation and policy-as-code frameworks, and lead complex incident responses. Deep AWS expertise is required, including IAM, VPC, KMS, EC2, EKS, and serverless architectures, along with proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools such as AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform, and programming languages like Python, Go, or Java. The role demands the ability to influence leaders and teams across organizational boundaries, strong architectural judgment, and a strategic vision for security in hyperscale cloud platforms. Familiarity with global compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC, PCI) is a plus. The position is remote in India but requires some overlap with US business hours. Benefits include paid time off, retirement plans, bonus eligibility, equity grants, health benefits, parental leave, and diverse employee resource groups. GoDaddy promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion as core values and is an equal opportunity employer. The company supports entrepreneurs globally by providing tools and platforms to succeed online, and embraces a flexible work culture.
