GoDaddy is seeking a Senior Ceph Engineer to join their Global Storage Engineering team, focusing on engineering and deploying advanced storage technologies to support object, block, and file workloads for internal applications and private cloud infrastructure. The role involves participating in agile development practices including daily stand-ups, task tracking, design and code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration/deployment. Responsibilities include engineering, deploying, and maintaining storage technologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet product needs, and modeling workloads for custom solutions. Candidates must have over 8 years of site reliability engineering experience with strong expertise in Ceph storage systems, including deployment, configuration, performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting, upgrades, and maintenance. Expertise in Linux/Unix systems, scripting (Python, Bash), automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, SaltStack), and monitoring tools like Nagios/Icinga2, Prometheus, Grafana, Mimir, and Loki is required. Experience with OpenStack services and integration of Ceph storage in cloud environments is essential. Strong understanding of networking, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication for collaborative teamwork are expected. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related fields, experience with other distributed storage systems, containerization/orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes), and knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). This is a fully remote role with occasional office visits, excluding certain states and cities.
