Intercompany Accountant

Position Overview

Our Core Finance Shared Services Centre (Finance Excellence Centre) in Lisbon has been successfully supportingteam.blue’s acquired companies for close to two years. As the group continues to grow through new acquisitions and intercompany activity increases in complexity and volume, we are reinforcing our Record to Report team with an Intercompany Accountant.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with 3-5 years of experience to deepen their expertise in intercompany accounting within a dynamic, multi-entity international environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing intercompany transactions, ensuring compliance with group policies, and contributing to ongoing process improvements across the Centre.

Key Responsibilities

Intercompany Accounting & Reconciliation

Manage and process intercompany transactions including recharges.

Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Prepare and post intercompany journal entries in accordance with group accounting policies.

Manage intercompany invoices (payable and receivable) and perform intercompany payments.

Maintain the intercompany matrix and ensure all balances are correctly reflected in NetSuite.

Month-End & Reporting

Support month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations.

Assist in preparing financial reports and provide variance analysis and commentary on intercompany balances.

Compliance & Controls

Ensure intercompany transactions comply with transfer pricing policies, GAAP/IFRS standards, and local statutory requirements.

Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits.

Maintain up-to-date intercompany agreements in coordination with Group Tax and Legal.

Support the implementation and ongoing compliance with the group’s Intercompany Operating Guidelines.

Systems & Process Improvement

Work within NetSuite (live and expanding) as the key system for intercompany accounting and reporting.

Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives within the CoreFinance SSC.

Support the onboarding of newly acquired entities into the intercompany framework.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with exposure to intercompany or group reporting.
  • Experience working in an international environment or shared service centre is a plus.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and transfer pricing concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred; SAP, Oracle or similar also valued).
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills – comfortable engaging with Finance teams across different countries and cultures.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Fluency in English required; additional European language skills are a plus.
