Position Overview

Our Core Finance Shared Services Centre (Finance Excellence Centre) in Lisbon has been successfully supportingteam.blue’s acquired companies for close to two years, ensuring streamlined financial processes and operational efficiency. As the group continues to grow through new acquisitions and our NetSuite ERP rollout expands across entities, we are reinforcing our Record to Report team with a General Ledger Associate.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with 1-3 years of experience who wants to develop their expertise in an international, multi-entity environment. The successful candidate will contribute to accurate financial reporting, month-end close activities, and ongoing process improvements within a structured and collaborative SSC setup.

Key Responsibilities

General Ledger & Month-End Close

Maintain the general ledger for assigned entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with group accounting policies and applicable GAAP/IFRS standards.

Support the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, intercompany and fixed assets.

Prepare account reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of open items.

Work with local Finance teams and other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions and expense allocations.

Reporting & Audit Support

Assist in the preparation of financial reports and contribute to the annual accounts process.

Identify discrepancies in general ledger accounts and support the resolution of issues in coordination with the RTR team.

Provide documentation and support for annual audits.

Systems & Process Improvement

Work within NetSuite (live and expanding across the group) to support daily accounting operations and reporting.

Participate in process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency within the CoreFinance SSC.

Support onboarding of newly acquired entities into the Center processes and systems.

Benefits

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Exposure to an international environment or shared service center is a plus.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred; SAP, Oracle or similar also valued).
  • Demonstrated ability to work confidently in Excel, using tools such as pivot tables and intermediate functions
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and willingness to take ownership.
  • Good communication skills, comfortable working across different teams and cultures.
  • Fluency in English required; additional European language skills are a plus.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a desire to grow professionally.
