This remote role involves designing, developing, and optimizing backend services, APIs, and systems powering GoDaddy’s applications. You will work with distributed systems and microservices to create scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, front-end engineers, and data teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. Responsibilities include writing clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices, investigating and resolving software issues, optimizing performance, and advocating for new technologies to keep the tech stack modern and efficient. You will contribute to architecture and design discussions and actively participate in team brainstorming and solution proposals. The ideal candidate has over 6 years of Java and Spring Boot experience in developing large-scale distributed applications, with proficiency in RESTful API design and microservice architecture, plus at least 2 years of cloud experience preferably with AWS and familiarity with containers and cloud-native development. Knowledge of data structures, software design, relational and NoSQL databases, scalability, performance tuning, and caching strategies is essential. Experience with event-driven architectures, messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ, and DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code is a plus. Leadership experience or interest in managerial growth is desirable, with a potential to step into a leadership role within 6 months.
