You have a good amount of experience administering GitLab and know how to stay calm and focused — even when working in complex system environments? Then join our team in Falkenstein/Vogtland or Nuremberg as a System Administrator (m/f/d) and take charge of operating and improving our self-hosted GitLab infrastructure.

Your tasks:

  • Install, configure, and manage our self-hosted GitLab instances
  • Ensure the high availability, performance, and security of the GitLab environment
  • Maintain and update GitLab, including GitLab Runner
  • Manage users, groups, and access permissions
  • Handle regular backups, updates, and security patches
  • Troubleshoot issues within GitLab and CI/CD pipelines
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation

Job requirements

  • A completed degree or vocational training in IT (e.g. IT specialist for system integration)
  • Professional experience as a system administrator or in a similar role
  • Good knowledge of GitLab administration, including GitLab Runner and Docker
  • Confident at working with Linux servers and the command line
  • Hands-on experience with container technologies — especially Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with at least one scripting language (e.g. Bash, Ruby)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a structured, independent work style
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset
