DreamHost has unveiled a new Server Dashboard for its VPS and MySQL VPS customers, bringing a host of significant improvements and advanced features to enhance server management and online business operations. The company announced this update on x.com, highlighting the new capabilities designed to benefit its users.
Detailed usage metrics and auto-boost RAM protection
The new Server Dashboard offers detailed metrics for RAM and Disk usage on a daily, weekly, and biweekly basis. This allows users to closely monitor their resource usage and optimize performance more effectively than before. The old dashboard provided limited reporting on these metrics, making it harder for users to manage their resources efficiently.
One of the standout features of the new dashboard is the “Auto Boost” function. When a server reaches its RAM capacity, Auto Boost temporarily assigns additional memory resources to maintain optimal performance. Users receive alerts when Auto Boost is active, providing them an opportunity to optimize or upgrade their server as needed. This feature was absent in the previous version of the dashboard, which lacked any automatic RAM management capabilities.
Integrated proxy server management and simplified website management
The new dashboard also fully integrates tools for managing proxy servers, including NGINX and mail servers. This integration enhances accessibility and usability, making it easier for users to manage these essential VPS-specific features. In contrast, the old dashboard offered basic or no integration for proxy server management tools.
Additionally, the new Server Dashboard simplifies the management of websites and users. It provides a smoother transition from Shared hosting plans to VPS, displaying the number of websites linked to each VPS and offering direct access to a “Manage Websites” view. Enhanced search and filtering tools help users manage multiple servers more efficiently. The old dashboard was less intuitive in this regard, making it more challenging to manage multiple websites and users.
Improved tools for better management
These updates aim to provide VPS customers with more effective tools and insights for managing their servers and online presence. With enhanced metrics, automatic RAM management, integrated proxy controls, and simplified website management, users can now handle their server environments with greater ease and efficiency. The new features are designed to support users in maintaining optimal performance and making informed decisions about their server resources, ultimately enhancing their ability to manage and expand their online operations.
