As a Principal Software Development Engineer at GoDaddy, you will develop and build secure, scalable services to support millions of customer workloads, making strategic improvements to the hosting platform. You will set high standards for coding, testing, and security, lead technical discussions, and contribute to the direction of GoDaddy’s hosting platform. Collaborating with teams across the company, you will promote cutting-edge technology solutions and improve monitoring and observability to quickly identify and resolve production issues. This role requires 8+ years of experience building and supporting high-traffic critical software systems, proficiency in multiple programming languages (Ruby, Java, Node.js, Python, Go, PHP), and strong experience with AWS, CI/CD, Git, messaging systems like RabbitMQ and Kafka, containerization with Docker/Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Puppet and Ansible. You will work with Linux environments and both SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Redis, Cassandra) databases. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong ownership, delivers results independently and collaboratively, and commits to continuous improvement and learning. Experience with hosting platforms or large-scale SaaS/PaaS, open-source contributions, or AI-powered development tools is a plus.
