EmDash 1.0 is stable: marketplace plugins run in isolated Workers with declared capabilities, authors own their registry entries, hosts need Node or Workers.

Cloudflare changes its AI crawler defaults on September 15. Crawlers that do more than one job will be judged by all of their behaviors, so sites that already block AI training will start blocking Googlebot. The new ad-page defaults reach every free-plan site left untouched.

Now Cloudflare released a tool that scores sites in the other direction: how well they support AI agents. Scanning 200,000 top domains, only 4% declare AI preferences and fewer than 15 support machine-readable API standards. For hosting providers, the scoring criteria map directly onto platform configuration decisions by customer segment.

The Cloudflare Registrar API formalizes a shift that is already underway: AI agents checking availability, registering names, and configuring DNS without human sign-off. The API uses at-cost pricing, default WHOIS privacy, and account payment credentials. A registrar-as-a-service platform for hosting providers is planned for later in 2026. The governance questions around agent spend control and credential scope are not solved by default.

Cloudflare's Agents Week, April 12-17, 2026, produced more than 20 announcements spanning compute, storage, networking, browser, email, voice, and developer tooling. The week followed Anthropic's April 8 managed agent launch and an 11 percent Cloudflare stock decline two days later.

Claude Managed Agents provides a hosted disposable Linux container runtime for Claude-based agents at $0.08 per hour, with session management, checkpointing, and multi-agent coordination included, removing the need for a third-party infrastructure layer that Cloudflare's Workers AI and Dynamic Workers were built to provide.

WordPress 7.0 missed its April 9 release date and a new schedule will be announced by April 22. Hosting companies have a narrow window to prepare before the release date is confirmed.

At v0.1.0, EmDash is a developer preview with no plugin ecosystem and reported performance issues, not a production platform. But it comes from a company with the infrastructure and developer reach to make it matter over a longer horizon than the current release suggests.
